Standing as a reaper, backing a reaper and raising the flag work: the server had never been listening to those three buttons.
The map no longer stops drawing where you have just walked, and zooming no longer flickers or leaps.
The strip in the Dark Zone says where you are in plain words.
The full list of changes
01Buttons that tell the truth
The reapers' page: standing, backing and the flag reached nobody and answered nothing. A seated reaper is offered to stand for the next term instead of to become one, the flag says what it trades and shows whether it flies, and your own candidacy no longer offers you a vote that is never counted.
A greyed button says why when you point at it. Taking a homestead out of reach or in the Dark Zone, giving up ground that is staked or owes, disbanding a body that still holds something, and settling a contract with a promise before a bench are greyed with the reason instead of lit and refused.
Declaring a contract honoured asks first and says what it records. Staking ground in a contract works: the ground is staked by the organisation that holds it.
A city that holds ground in one world is no longer offered a first claim in another that the register refuses.
The black market asks before it burns your coin, no longer sells at a greyed price, shows its own board as soon as you open it, appears and disappears as you cross the line, and names what you bought. What it said about nothing being written down was not true of your own statement, and it no longer says it.
Inbox rows about a road paid by standing order, a road debt owed to you and a killing open where they belong instead of doing nothing.
02The map
Ground you walked into for the first time was missing from the map at every zoom but the closest, and sometimes stayed missing: a far view already on screen never heard that the ground under it had changed.
Crossing from one level of detail to the next showed the coarser or finer picture it already had until the new one was ready, instead of going black for a moment.
A trackpad or smooth-scrolling mouse zooms by how far you actually scroll; each tiny step used to count as a whole notch.
Far out, a right click is about the place: zoom in here, mark it, centre on it, copy the coordinates. It no longer picks a chunk a pixel wide and offers to claim it.
A Shift-drag reaches as far as the claimable square, and one act takes up to 256 chunks, where it was 64.
The edge of the Dark Zone no longer fades almost out at the distance where the wall by the ground hands over to the band that stands at your height.
03The strip
"Dark Zone, near band - 981 m past the line" instead of a band name nobody had been told about and a depth measured from nowhere.
